Shake It Off

Taylor Swift has won her sexual assault case against ex-radio DJ David Mueller.

The jury found in favour of Ms Swift after DJ Mueller groped the singer under her skirt at the 2013 Red Tour concert in Denver. Mueller was charged with assault and battery and Ms Swift was awarded a massive $1 (77p) in damages.

Mueller had previously tried to sue Swift because he got sacked after the incident but his case was dismissed last week.

Ms Swift has since released a statement following the decision, “I want to thank Judge William J. Martinez and the jury for their careful consideration, my attorneys Doug Baldridge, Danielle Foley, Jay Schaudies and Katie Wright for fighting for me and anyone who feels silence by a sexual assault, and especially anyone who offered their support throughout this four-year ordeal and two-year long trial process. I acknowledge the privilege that I benefit from in life, in society and in my ability to shoulder the enormous cost of defending myself in a trial like this. My hope is to help those whose voices should also be heard. Therefore, I will be making donations in the near future to multiple organizations that help sexual assault victims defend themselves.”

About Baby Bel

I'm a single mum, waiting on my knight with shining armour but the best I can hope for is my 7 year old wrapped in tin foil. You can normally find me on my hands and knees (cleaning the kitchen floor). Getting wet in the bathroom (cleaning the kids honest). Dirty in the garden (digging weeds). Being creative in the kitchen (spaghetti hoops on toast ah viola!)
