Aston Merrygold has been confirmed that as the eighth contestant for the Strictly Come Dancing 2017 line-up.
The news of the former JLS star’s was announced on the Scott Mills show on BBC Radio 1 much to the delight of viewers on Twitter.
‘He will be good,’ one declared, whilst a second added: ‘That’s one hell of a signing! He’ll be very entertaining for sure. I just want the smallest dancer, I’m not the tallest bloke,’ Aston himself laughed as he shared his excitement live on air.
Aston follows in the footsteps of Chef Simon Rimmer, Holby City actor Joe McFadden, writer and broadcaster Reverend Richard Coles, former Hollyoaks star Gemma Atkinson, TV presenter Ruth Langsford, EastEnders’ cast member Davood Ghadami and Saturdays singer Mollie King, all of whom have already been confirmed to be taking part.
